Course in Miracles

We are able to offer so much freely because of the many volunteers who give their time, skills, and resources in support of this beautiful and holy purpose! If you feel inspired to contribute to this beautiful awakening we greatly appreciate it!
Awakening Mind encourages everyone to develop intuitive listening to their inner Guide and to trust and depend upon this guidance for decisions in everyday living. How one feels is a barometer for discerning that which is intuitively helpful, and peace is its own reward.
How do I receive guidance from the Holy Spirit?, you might ask. Watch this video to learn all about that:

A Course in Miracles

Summary: A Spiritual Awakening Experience with David Hoffmeister and the Movie Watcher’s Guide to Enlightenment. The belief in attack is buried deep within the mind. While an external enemy is believed in, attack will continue to be witnessed in everyone and everything. From small criticisms to dragon fireballs being hurled at your home, it is actually the same.

Attack is a denial of self and it is not until our function and our true identity is accepted that the world can transform to a place of love, gentleness and collaboration. The enemy is not the enemy at all! It was a misconception! When the need for defense is dropped, innocence is recognized and all it takes is a loving gesture for the fiercest enemy to become an adorable and potentially powerful mighty companion!

You are not fooling anyone when you are trying to be something that you are not! Seeking the approval of a father figure will never work because the one seeking approval is confused about identity. The deeply rooted belief in the ego which is the same as the belief in attack, has to be raised up out of its hiding place and faced to put an end to a meaningless battle. It ends today!

The adventure continues with How to Train Your Dragon 2 when the Son of God is called to his purpose to serve love. This movie beautifully demonstrates the gift of mighty companions to remind each other of the light within. The power of love's call can not be denied.

While in form there are seeming "battles" with darkness, death, and the experience of unwinding from expectations and roles, it is through the power of forgiveness that the heart opens to find ever present peace and love.

Non Dual Teachers

Question: Is there a method of praying for individuals? I feel guided to hold certain individuals who are on my heart in the light, seeing them free, flooded with peace and light, complete and "one," having escaped the illusion of duality. Is there a more powerful way one might pray for another who has not become aware of the error of duality?

David Hoffmeister A Course in Miracles: Your "focus" is in the "right direction" in the sense that the experience of forgiveness dissolves the belief in "another" entirely. The form of prayer that might be called "praying for another" is a form of charity. Charity is seeing a brother or sister as much farther along than they appear to be in time, and so charity is a time-related reflection of Love. The Oneness of Love is a Universal State of Being that is Eternal, therefore Oneness transcends time entirely.

The Absolute Oneness of Love can have no opposite, and the belief in private thoughts and private minds—separate individuals—IS the belief that Love can be broken apart and divided up. The prayer of our heart is to feel and experience the Oneness of Love, and the witnesses that are called forth shine as a reflection of that prayer. The mind sees or perceives what it desires, and as our desire becomes purified and single, our perception becomes healed and whole.
The aim of meditation might be stated as emptying the mind entirely of erroneous thoughts and beliefs so that not one seeming "scrap" remains. The aim of prayer might be stated as knowing the Will of God as Eternal Oneness. Prayer and meditation in their early "forms" are seen as means to the "end" of Enlightenment, or Salvation, yet in the Present Moment they are but ways of describing the flow of the Spirit. It is helpful to ponder these ideas:

When I am healed I am not healed alone.

My mind holds only what I think with God.

Love has no opposite.

Truth is true and only Truth is true.

Means and ends vanish in the experience of Oneness, for What Is takes no time to experience.
